Background

Contacts: Dan Brickley (VU University and FOAF project), Zoja Bajbutovic ( SogeoCompany), Maurice Groenhart of Layar , ...

Previous events: The first 3 devcamps (MountainView Mountain View, USA, NYC, USA and Manchester UK) went well. See the how'd it go thread for some early outcomes.

Discussion: let's use the main ardevcamp and wiki until administrative details become too boring to impose on others.

For people signing up as interested to attend or help organize, use the regional event list section for now, and then we can move details in here.

Goals

The goal of this event is to build on the momentum of the ardevcamp initiative, with a focus on technology sharing, collaboration, and the portability and integration of information across diverse platforms and AR environments.

The event will follow the established ardev model as an informal, grassroots event in which the participants shape an active agenda 'as it happens'. This page serves to provide some basic structure, and to help the organizers coordinate and communicate.

From [AR_DevCamp_interest_list], ardevcamp.org:

None of us claims to "own" the ARdevcamp concept, so no permission is necessary. Just go ahead and do it! All we ask is that any ARdevcamp events be consistent with furthering an open ARweb ecosystem and an open ARweb technology stack; 3D geocodes, image triggered positioning, point cloud mining, 3d cartography, data, semantics, cross-domain interoperability, rendering frame works, network streaming and caching, sensor integration, apis, etc. We also request that special care be taken so that ARdevcamp does not become a captured brand of [welcomed] commercial interest sponsors.
